Jelly Butterflies - English tutorial

Special thanks to Linda Coker for translation!

A few years ago I found on a social network photo of a beautiful cake that I was struck by the simplicity and sense of lightness that donated some butterflies translucent cutlery here and there.

I tried so many times until I managed myself to create these fantastic butterflies gelatin.

You can create impressive cakes and simple in construction.

The only warning to keep in mind is that you have to start early, the drying time is quite long.

ingredients:

15gr gelatin granules

25g Water

food colors

Acetate sheet for the grain

Place the gelatin and water in a container that can go in the microwave.
Turn it on full power for 15 seconds, pull it out, turn it over and repeat for 10 seconds this time. The gelatin should be dissolved as a whole in the picture, if not put in the microwave for another 10 seconds.

Once dissolved we can color at will.
At this point mix it trying to remove as much as possible the air bubbles.

Take the acetate sheet with a brush and pass the mixture.
Now you wait until the gelatin dry completely. I usually prepare it at night so that the next morning I am ready. To ensure that your butterflies will be ready to be detached themselves from the acetate sheet.
Take the small scissors and cut out all the edges of the wings.
With small pieces of white sugar paste created the body of the butterfly, wet the edges of wings with a drop of glue and apply them food.
Here ready your butterflies.

These are some cakes that I made over the years with butterflies using this technique.

Ciao!
